Puppenfimo, mixed media....I think she was about 8 or 9" long if I remember correctly? Anyway, her fingers are webbed and she has gills, but it might be hard to see in the photos.

This is a terrific pose, fabulous colours too, especially on her tail. I'd love to try my hand at this but I wouldn't even know where to buy polymer/modelling clay! This must take a lot of patience.

It does take a lot of patience....but it's very therapeutic. I highly recommend squishing clay to anyone. You can buy polymer clay just about at any craft or art store...or online. Seriously, you'll be hooked!

I'm a bit of an impatient person but I think I'd love to try modelling something like this. I think next time I'm in town I'll pop into a crafts store. What sort of paint do you use to colour your creations?

Well, you need something water-based. As oils do not react well to the clay....so basically any kind of acrylic (tubes or even the inexpensive bottled type even). If you find yourself getting into it, you can try heat-set Genesis paints, which can be pricey, but they are very useful once you get the hang of them. You can also use pastels, or pastel pencils....you really should experiment, you'll prolly be surprised!

I think I will, if I could make something awesome like your merperson I'd be so chuffed! Next time I'm near a craft shop I'll pick up some clay. Thanks very much for the tips!

I assume to be "chuffed" is a good thing? *chuckle*
